The GB Premier Women have now completed all their training in preparation for the World Championships in Prague which starts in only eight days. Looking fit in their kit the team will be a force to be reckoned with. The Championships will be an amazing journey of highs and lows, but one they will never forget. It is a journey which very few people get to ride and say 'I represented my country at a World Championships.' As 'ordinary women, doing extra ordinary things' we are all still prone to the inevitable bug. Following our last training weekend two weeks ago, one of our fellow paddlers suffered a bout of Swine Flu. Not nice for the person concerned as it lays you up for a least a week unable to eat, feeling rather nauseous or even consider doing any training. But having been quarantined to her room with her prescription drugs she has now fully recovered. Thank goodness the rest of the team have not shown any symptoms. |
