When Griff our coach chose 'Unbreakable' as the theme for this year's team he could not have envisaged how appropriate it would prove to be. 

Let's just say the course at Racice had certain 'quirks' about it that we just could not beat!

Our results were:

2000m - 6th place

1000m - 4th place

200m - 7th place

500m - 5th place

It is frustrating that the team will never know whether the final results reflected what they were truly capable of. It would have been so easy for us to crumble physically, mentally and emotionally as the results we had wished for did not materialise.  But that didn't happen.  We were so well prepared, so supportive of each other and had so much belief in ourselves that we seemed to be able to handle anything. 

There are so many 'what ifs', but bemoaning our luck won't change anything.  That's sport.  There are so many positives that we can take away from the experience that perhaps we wouldn't have been able to if things had gone our way.  We found out that we are mentally strong, that we can adapt to unexpected water conditions, and that we will remain positive and confident with whatever is thrown at us.  

But GB did win the party!!
